4x4 - Isuzu

Isuzu D-Max and MU-X tuning.

3.0 4JJ1 and 4JJ3 calibration written for daily, tow and touring use, validated on our dyno in Parafield Gardens.

The Isuzu 3.0 is a tough, conservative engine. The factory calibration is set up to last 500,000 kilometres for a fleet operator. There is a meaningful margin to recover for an owner who is willing to look after the truck.

We tune for rolling torque and clean response under load. EGT is held to a target you can live with at GVM in summer.

On the current 4JJ3 we also tune the auto, which transforms how the truck behaves with a trailer attached.

FAQ

Common questions.

Which D-Max generations do you tune?
TF and RT 3.0 4JJ1, current generation 4JJ3 D-Max and MU-X. The 1.9 BluePower platform as well, with a sensible expectation about what the smaller engine can deliver.
Is the current D-Max V-Cross safe to tune?
Yes. The 4JJ3 has good calibration headroom and responds well to a conservative Stage 1. The auto behind it benefits from a tuned TCU too.
Will it still tow 3.5 tonne reliably?
Yes, that is the most common reason owners call us. A tow focused tune lifts rolling torque under load and gives the auto better gear choices.
Do you keep the DPF?
Yes. We tune around the DPF and keep the regen cycle working cleanly.
How long does a D-Max tune take?
A half day at the workshop including dyno validation and a road test. If you are travelling from regional SA we will work to your timing.
