Pillar 01

European performance, done properly.

Calibration and builds for Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, Audi RS, Porsche, VW, Skoda and select exotics, backed by Evolve Technik's European expertise. 98 RON, factory-safe targets, verified on our dyno.

Powered by Evolve Technik

Evolve Technik is a European performance specialist, and our South Australian workshop is run to those standards. Christian Fitzgerald leads the operation here, bringing Evolve's tooling, calibration methods and platform knowledge into the Parafield Gardens workshop.

In practice that means factory-level diagnostic and programming equipment, calibration developed for Australian fuel and conditions, and a small team that stays deep on a defined set of European platforms rather than tuning everything that rolls in.

For platform-specific power figures and to find an Evolve Technik dealer outside South Australia, visit the Tune My Car page on evolve-technik.com.au.

Where a build needs more than one set of eyes, we can lean on the wider Evolve Technik network for platform data and development experience, then validate the result on our own dyno before the car goes home.

Every project starts with a conversation about the car and the goal. We will tell you what a Stage 1 will realistically deliver, what a built motor will not, and where the smart money is on your specific platform.

Why calibration, not a generic file

The headroom is real, but it is local.

A factory European calibration has to survive poor fuel, high ambient temperatures, long service intervals and a global dealer network. That conservatism is sensible for the manufacturer and it is exactly where the honest gains sit for an owner in Adelaide running 98 RON with a healthy cooling system.

An off-the-shelf file cannot account for your hardware, your fuel, your service history or the condition of your intake and intercooler. We write to the car in front of us, log it, and prove it on our own dyno. Starting figures for European work are listed on the pricing page, and real gains from cars we have run are on builds and results.

We will also tell you when the answer is no. If a platform is marginal, or the gain does not justify the cost, that conversation happens before you book, not after the car is in the workshop.

Process

How a European tune runs here.

  1. 01

    Consultation and health check

We talk about the car and the goal, then check the basics: fault codes, service history, intake, cooling and any existing hardware. A tired car gets sorted before it gets tuned.

  2. 02

    ECU and TCU read

The original calibration is read, either over OBD or on the bench depending on the platform, and backed up to our records before a single value changes.

  3. 03

    Base calibration

A base file is written for your specific car, hardware and fuel, rather than a generic map applied to a model range.

  4. 04

    Dyno development (if opted in)

If you choose to add dyno time, the car goes on our in-house dyno for the development work: boost, timing, fuelling and torque limits, all logged and refined until the numbers are repeatable. Dyno runs are an optional add-on, not included in every tune.

  5. 05

    Road validation

Part throttle, cruise, cold start and stop-start traffic. This is where a tune either keeps the factory manners or does not.

  6. 06

    Handover

We walk you through what was changed and confirm the car is driving as it should. If a dyno run was included, we discuss the graph with you before you leave.

Workshop visits and consultations are by appointment only. Book a consultation to get your car in front of us.

FAQ

Common questions.

Which European marques do you tune?
Mercedes-AMG, BMW M and N-series, Audi RS and S, Porsche, Volkswagen, Skoda and selected exotics. We stay deep on a defined set of platforms rather than tuning everything that rolls in, so if your car sits outside that list we will say so before you book.
Is the ECU read over OBD or on the bench?
It depends on the platform. Many late-model European ECUs are locked over OBD and need bench programming, which means the ECU comes out and is read on the bench. We have the tooling in-house for both methods and we will tell you which applies to your car when we quote.
What happens to my factory warranty?
Out of warranty cars are straightforward. If the car is still covered, talk to us first. We will be honest about what a dealer can and cannot see on your platform, including flash counters, and we can return the car to the original calibration when needed.
Do you calibrate the gearbox as well as the engine?
Yes, where the platform allows it. On AMG SpeedShift MCT and 9G-Tronic, ZF 8HP, DSG, S tronic and PDK we look at clamp pressure, shift points and torque limits. A power figure the gearbox cannot hold is not a useful figure.
What fuel do you calibrate for?
Australian 98 RON premium unleaded is our default for petrol cars. If you only have reliable access to 95 we will discuss the trade-offs and target the calibration accordingly before anything is written.
Can you tune my car remotely if I am not in Adelaide?
On some platforms, yes. Remote and mail order work is offered where the file can be handled safely and the car can be logged properly. Where a platform needs the car on the dyno to be done well, we will tell you rather than post a file and hope. We are also part of the Evolve Technik network, which has dealers across the country. Visit evolve-technik.com.au to find a dealer near you, or see the Tune My Car page for platform-specific power gains.
