JDM - R35 GT-R

R35 GT-R tuning in Adelaide.

From a first Stage 1 to a built engine and turbo package, calibrated in-house on Cobb by a workshop that races its own GT-Rs.

The VR38 responds brilliantly to a proper custom calibration. Throttle response, boost control, torque management and DCT behaviour are all written for your car, your fuel and your hardware, not pulled from a library file. The result you feel daily is response and drivability, with the peak number following from that.

Most cars start at Stage 1, which is calibration alone on healthy stock hardware. Stage 2 adds intakes, downpipes and exhaust. Beyond that we build complete packages: turbo kits, fuel system upgrades for E85, built engines and transmission hardware, specified in writing with realistic figures agreed before the car is booked.

The transmission is never an afterthought. Clamping strategy, shift behaviour, launch control and traction strategy are calibrated alongside the engine map, because an R35 that makes power but cannot hold or use it is not a result.

This is not theory for us. The workshop's 45th Anniversary R35 build runs a 4.4 litre stroker on a billet block with a TSM Elite turbo package and a PPG gearset, Cobb tuned here to 900 awkw at 30 psi on E85. Our own R35 is campaigned in Adelaide roll racing, so the calibration strategy for standing starts, roll racing and track work comes from cars we run ourselves.

FAQ

Common questions.

What does a Stage 1 R35 actually make?
Every car differs, but to keep it honest: a customer car we calibrated made 296 awkw stock and 334 awkw after a custom Cobb Stage 1 on 98 RON, all-wheel kilowatts on our own dyno. Fuel, condition and boost strategy all move the number.
Is a dyno run included in an R35 tune?
No. Every car is logged and road tested as standard. A before and after dyno run on our in-house dyno is an optional add-on at $250.
Does the transmission need attention?
The DCT calibration is part of how we approach the car from Stage 1. As power climbs, clamping strategy and eventually hardware such as gearsets and clutch packs become part of the conversation, and we will tell you where that line sits for your target.
Can I start with Stage 1 and go further later?
Yes, that is how most cars progress. Because we supply and fit the hardware as well, intakes, downpipes, intercooler and fuel system upgrades can be added in stages with the calibration updated to suit each step.
What fuel do you calibrate for?
98 RON as standard. If the car is set up for E85 or flex fuel, we calibrate for the fuel it will actually run, with the fuel system hardware to support it.
