LS - Built
LS7, LSX and stroker builds.
Built short blocks, forged rotating assemblies and serious naturally aspirated combinations, specified, assembled and calibrated as one job.
A built LS is a specification exercise before it is a workshop exercise. Compression, cam, head flow, valvetrain and fuel system all have to agree with each other and with how the car will actually be driven.
We scope the combination with you first, put it in writing with real figures, then manage the build and the calibration end to end so there is one point of accountability if something needs attention.
Valvetrain quality is where we spend money on these engines. Lifters, springs and pushrod length checked properly are what keeps a big naturally aspirated combination alive.

98 RONFAQ
Common questions.
- Do you build the engine as well as tune it?
- We manage the build and the calibration as one job so nobody is guessing about specification. Machining is done by trusted local shops we work with regularly.
- How much capacity is worth chasing?
- It depends on the car and the use. A 416 or 427 combination is a lot of engine for a street car, and the cam and head package matters more than the last few cubes.
- Are LS7 lifter issues a real problem?
- They are worth taking seriously on high kilometre engines. We inspect before committing to a build plan rather than tuning around an unknown valvetrain.
- How long does a build take?
- It depends on parts availability and machining lead times. You get a realistic schedule in writing before the car is booked in, and progress updates through the job.
