LS - Supercharged

LSA supercharged tuning.

HSV GTS, Clubsport R8 LSA and supercharged Chevrolet platforms, calibrated around boost, intake air temperature and knock margin.

The LSA is a strong engine with a supercharger that is easy to ask too much of. Boost is cheap on a positive displacement blower, and the real work is keeping the charge temperature and knock margin sensible once you have it.

A typical package here is a pulley, a bigger heat exchanger, an intake and a full custom calibration. We log intake air temperature and knock behaviour on repeat runs, not just one clean pull, because that is what the car sees in traffic on a hot Adelaide day.

Harrop hardware is common on these cars and it suits the way we work: proven parts, fitted here, calibrated here.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is the first upgrade on an LSA?
Heat management. A smaller pulley makes boost, but an LSA that heat soaks will pull timing and give it straight back. Intercooler and heat exchanger work usually earns its keep before anything else.
Do I need injectors or a fuel pump?
It depends on the target. A mild pulley and tune package can live on the factory fuel system, but once boost and airflow climb the fuel system becomes the limit and we will say so before you commit.
Is a supercharged car harder to calibrate?
There is less margin for error. Timing under boost, intake air temperature compensation and knock behaviour all need proper attention, which is why supercharged cars get more logging time.
Can you fit the hardware as well?
Yes. Pulleys, snouts, heat exchangers, injectors and cooling upgrades are supplied and fitted here so the hardware and the calibration are the same job.
